Our History

We are part of the Mosaic Ministries, a multi-congregational campus. The Mosaic is a concept formed by the Hope Community Church of the Virginia Peninsula to gather a community of churches to partner and share the facilities of the LivingStone Monastery. In addition to sharing in the use of the Monastery, the participating churches share in various opportunities for joint worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission. At the present time, there are five churches worshiping within the walls of the LivingStone Monastery.

Statement of Faith

At By Grace Community Church We Believe:

  1. Our purpose in life is to glorify God by Enjoying Him forever.

  2. The Bible

    1. The Bible is Uniquely, Divinely Inspired, Entirely Trustworthy & Authoritative for all aspects of Faith & Life. We believe it to be the Word of God!
    2. The Bible consists of 39 books forming The Old Testament and 27 forming the New Testament.

  3. The Trinity

    We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

    1. The Father
      We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
    2. Jesus Christ
      Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was the Eternal Word incarnate in flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth.
    3. The Holy Spirit
      The Holy Spirit is the eternally existent third member of the Godhead, that proceeds from the Father and Son. Who with the Father and Son is worshipped and glorified. He regenerates men by His grace, convicts them of sin, moves them to repentance, and persuades & enables them to embrace Jesus Christ by Faith Alone. He unites all believers to Christ, dwells in them as their Comforter and Sanctifier and gives to them the spirit of Adoption. He will lead the Church into a right understanding and rich application of the truth of God’s Word!
